The real app ships with 20+ calculation methods, DST-safe on-device math, your own GPS location, and — this is the point — none of it ever leaves your phone.

Why it exists
Ads in the middle of Quran reading. An account wall before you can see prayer times. Trackers quietly profiling when and how you read. Awwal Deen was built as the answer — one app, five promises, kept by architecture rather than by policy.
The 60-second pitch — user guideDownload your Quran editions once — a one-time step of a few MB — and the app behaves identically on a flight, in a basement, or on roaming data. No “loading…” spinners. No degraded mode.
No analytics SDK — no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude. No ads, not now, not ever. No sign-up, no login, no “sync to the cloud unless you pay.”
Not a notification at prayer time — a full-screen lock-screen overlay with adhan audio, a snooze button and a “completed” tracker, followed by a quiet reflection prompt. And it survives Doze, OEM battery killers and reboots.
Most Islamic apps ship one widget, maybe two. Awwal Deen ships ten — a spiritual dashboard for your home screen, from the 24-hour prayer arc to a Ramadan Sehri countdown.
No in-app purchases. No “Pro” tier. No subscription. No data-harvesting business model — there is no company behind this app, it is a community project.
The full inventory
Five separate apps — prayer times, Quran, hadith, salah tracking, qibla — five icons, five settings menus, five privacy policies. Here they are as one.
Privacy by architecture
Your bookmarks, salah diary, memos, reading position and settings live in a Room database and a DataStore file inside the app’s private directory — /data/data/org.awwal.deen — where no other app can read them, and which Android wipes the moment you uninstall.
From Tanzil, AlQuran.cloud or the FTS5 manifest — the request carries only the edition ID, never user data. SHA-256 verified on arrival.
Open-Meteo, using the same coordinates as your prayer times, cached for 10 minutes.
Opens DuckDuckGo, Google, Quran.com or Sunnah.com in your own browser — the app itself makes no request.
If you enable it, ERROR + WARN logs only. No verse text, no journal text, no memo text, no bookmark content — this contract is enforced at the logging layer. And it goes to a bot you configured.

Open the file in your file manager. First sideload? Android will ask you to let your file manager “install unknown apps” — tap Settings, switch it on, come back.
Tap Install → Open. The only step that needs internet is downloading your first edition — Arabic (Uthmani) and English (Sahih International) are the recommended pair. After that, you’re offline forever.
After installing: set your calculation method (Muslim World League is the default — change it to match your local mosque) and your location via GPS, manual coordinates or city search. On Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo or Vivo, whitelist the app from battery optimization so the adhan never misses a prayer. F-Droid and Google Play builds (fdroid / gplay flavors) are set up for when store listings go live.
